My creativity is gone...

It's funny. When I was in high school, I felt very creative but also very stressed. My head was consistently in the clouds (I daydreamed & doodled a lot in school) & I wanted nothing more than to be practical & realistic. Now, that I'm a bit more grown-up, my husband says that's one of the things he loves about me - that I'm so grounded, down-to-earth, & practical.

But I feel, somewhere in the mix, that I lost my creativity. Take, for example, my desire to write a book. While it would be nice to be the next J.K. Rowling or Stephenie Meyer, I don't flatter myself that I'm that talented - I simply want to publish a book for the sake of having done it.

But therein lies the problem. I can't figure out what to write about. I have so many ideas bouncing around in my head that I can't seem to choose one over another. I suppose I should just get started writing in the first place...

I doubt it's gone. Seriously. :)

Anyway, just thought I'd pass on some writing info, if your interested. . . and even it you aren't! :) A good family friend has written some books and just recently quit his job as an accountant to become a true full-time author! His blog is http://jamesdashner.blogspot.com/ and if you scroll down a little bit on the right side bar there's links to some writing Q&A posts he's done that may help and are encouraging. I'm here to tell you that I've known this guy since he was like 14 (I was 7) and it's just funny to me that he is now a successful author. That alone is pretty encouraging! :) hee hee. Anyway, check it out if you want. Or don't- I'll never know!
